The cast and crew at our closing reception.
We just closed The Diary of Anne Frank at Cleveland Play House, and I cannot be more grateful to have been a part of this beautiful production. Every person involved in the production – from the creative team to the run crew – did such beautiful work. What a generous, welcoming, and sensitive group of people, and what an incredibly urgent story for us to tell. While all of the audiences' responses were gratifying for us as actors, our four student matinees (where we performed for sold-out houses of Cleveland school children) felt especially meaningful. Many of these students had not been exposed to Anne's story prior to coming to see our show, and some of them had little to no Holocaust education in their curricula. Exposing them to this play – and seeing the tremendous empathy with which they responded to Anne and her family – made me very proud to be an actor.
Next up: Macbeth, my final production in the CWRU/CPH MFA Acting Program!
